At CVS in the Revlon section there are tons of 50% off stickers on select items. I spent $8.46 at cvs after coupons, store coupons and store rewards. I spent $2.56 at Rite Aid after coupons, store coupons, and store rewards.
This week there were store reward generating deals on Maybelline, Revlon, Almay and Sally Hansen. It wasn't a great week for beauty deals but I picked up a few new things to try. At CVS in the Revlon section there are tons of 50% off stickers on select items. I spent $8.46 at cvs after coupons, store coupons and store rewards. I spent $2.56 at Rite Aid after coupons, store coupons, and store rewards. I picked up another EyeStudio quad from the Maybelline Dare to be nude collection. It is called Nude Romance. ($9.99) I picked up a ColorStay Gel-Smoth base coat for 50% off at CVS. At Walgreens I found an Essie top coat for $2.12 and a Sinful Shine for .49 cents. At CVS I also bought a neon nail art for $3.99. At Rite Aid I chose a Revlon PhotoReady primer and shadow in 'pop art'. ($9.99) I read a very positive review of this Physicians Formula Spotless foundation serum. It also claims to make you look 10x younger. I'd really like one go to foundation where I can just put it on and go. No concealer or powder to add on. ($14.95) I picked up the newest Revlon mascara to come out: Bold Lacquer. It claims to lengthen and volumize. ($7.99-$8.99). The Revlon PhotoReady 3D volume mascara was 50% off. Plus I used a $2 MFC from coupons.com

L'Oreal is 40% off at Rite Aid this week. I took the opportunity to spend $2.29 on a new Butterfly Mascara, Visible Lift CC cream ($4 after MFC) and a Color Riche eyeshadow quad in Hollywood Icon (Used $2 MFC and it came to $2.84)
I also purchases the new MegaPlush colored mascara in Navy by Maybelline. I bought the corresponding limited edition eyeshadow quad earlier that week. I'd like to see how they work together. ($5 after 20% discount and MFC) At Rite Aid this week Physicians Formula is 40% off. On some of the new displays the products also have a $5 off coupon. If you use the coupon, the Physicians Formula is around $3 at the register.
I purchased 2 of the new 'Touch of Nude' products: A concealer and a blush/powder. I was a day late with my weekend budget shopping. I went on Monday and everything was still in stock. I am going to do another Rite Aid run later in the week. I picked up some hair and makeup products. I bought a trial sized Clear conditioner for $1.12 on clearance. I used a $2 Rite Aid Coupon so it was free. I got 3 Suave shampoo/conditioners and 1 Suave kids for $3 using mfc's. Plus I received $2 Up Rewards making the price $1 for 4. Nexxus FrizzDeft was also on clearance from $10.99 to $5.49. I had a $3 Rite Aid coupon so iit cost me $2.49 for a salon quality shampoo. I really liked the organic wear CC mascara. So I decided to try their Organic CC Cream. It is supposed to color, correct and provide instant hydration while being 100% natural. 70% is organic. This was $14.99. I had a $3 coupon and received 20% off the price because I am a gold card member at Rite Aid. There was a sale at Rite Aid where if you spend $15 on Physicians Formula you receive $7 Up Rewards. I picked this up and new shimmer eyeliners for blue eyes.
I bought 2 of the new Revlon Colorstay Quads from the Rio Rush display at Rite Aid. I loved the bold colors so I had to get them. The display wasn't even fully stocked yet. I will definitely swatch these in the future. They are $7.99 each. Rite Aid currently has a BOGO 50% off sale on Revlon. I also used a $1 off 2 Revlon eyeshadows MFC that was in this past Sundays paper.
At Rite Aid I saw a few new cosmetic displays including some new brands. Piggy Polish is now at Rite Aid. I have only seen these at Ulta. Each bottle comes with a cute toe ring. This is the new packaging for the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips. I saw the not yet fully stocked 'Rio Rush' displays by Revlon at 2 Rite Aids. I purchased both new eyeshadow colors. At Rite Aid there is a new L.A. Girl display with 'Feathered' polish. On the right is a close up. It looks like white and colored matte bar glitter. ($2.99)
At Rite Aid I spotted a new spring nail polish collection. It is called 'Les Blancs' and it is a collection of pale pastels and 2 pale pastels with matte black glitter. I saw this and knew I had to try one or two out. I liked how they looked and I like wearing pastels on my nail but sometimes they are streaky, uneven or are too sheer. At first I grabbed the 2 glitter pastels on the end. No matter how much I want to like these 2, black multi sized glitter reminds me of cookie crumbs. So I could never wear these because I would look down and think 'crushed Oreos'. I put them back and picked up the next 2 that I felt wanted to come home with me. I picked a pale peach called 'Peach Neglige' and a pale green called 'Mint Glacee'. The green reminds me of a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds. At Rite Aid this week there is a BOGO 50% off sale on L'Oreal cosmetics. The Les Blancs polishes are $5.99. The pictures really do the colors no justice. They are very delicate, light colors that are perfect for spring. They don't sit even on the naïl for me. You can't really tell by looking at the but in photos you can tell. You have to do thin coats. Besides that they are very pretty polishes that I know will get some wear in the spring
I had received a lot of Rite Aid receipt coupons and Catalina coupons for Almay and L'Oreal. I checked next week's rite aid flyer to see what kind of deals were going on. This week had better Almay and L'Oreal sales.
I did an early evening run to Rite Aid. I purchased a few skin, hair and makeup products. My total came to 40.98. With coupons and Rite Aid Up Rewards my final total came to .98 cents. (Sorry about the picture below. I didn't realize until after that the L'Oreal Advancd Care was upside down)
I know, I know. I vowed never to buy another one of the new Maybelline eye shadow quads because I was SO disappointed in pigmentation and overall quality. But as soon as I saw the blue in this palette I had to get it. I'm a sucker for color. Color and glitter. Unfortunately this one did not have any glitter. There are 4 Matte shades. The palette is called 'Electric Blue'. The price was 5.99. As a gold card member at Rite Aid, I get 20% off regulars priced merchandise. I think it scanned as $4.80. I had a $1 off MFC so it brought the price down to $3.80. ![]() he blue really stood out to me. I liked how it was labeled as use for the crease. I think it would look great as a pop of color there. I usually play around with my palettes and try each shade on my lid, eye crease, etc. ![]() The palette comes with a larger pan of a slightly off white shadow to be used as a base. It is a matte shadow like the rest in the quad. It is a decent white base and goes on easily and evenly. The lid is a matte lilac. It is pretty sheer when you first put it on. It takes a while to build up. It is a little patchy after building it up. This is my least favorite color in the palette. Shadow 3 is the reason I bought the palette. It is a royal blue with purple undertones. It is definitely not as bright on as in the palettes. But it is a bold blue that I can't wait to play around with. It can get a little patchy but I'm ok with it since I will be doing a lot of blending. The 4the color is a matte black. There really is nothing mind blowing about a matte black. This is a decent matte black. It actually goes on smoother than the blue and Lilac. Below are swatches. The first 4 have no primer and the last 4 are over E.L.F eyelid primer. ($1). The first picture is without flash, the next one is with flash. Overall I like this palette much better than the purple shadow palette I bought a few months ago. Besides the blue shade the palette is pretty unoriginal. A white base, black for liner and lilac for lid. Hopefully the blue will carry the palette and really hold the look together when I create an eye look.
The quality is a still a little disappointing. The shadows are dry and not soft and buttery like their EyeStudio Eye shadows. I LOVE those shadows. Too bad they can't make their Expert Wear shadows similar to the EyeStudio palettes. My favorite colors are the bold blue and matte black. The blue is a unique blue to see in a EyeStudio Palette. It swatched pretty well so I'm excited to try it over the weekend. After buying a 2nd Expert Wear shadow quad I still don't think I can recommend them. I like this palettes a lot better than the last one in terms of color. Some of the colors had better application than the previous quad I purchased. These just don't 'Wow' me or make me want to add it to my daily makeup routine train case. For $4 more I recommend getting the Maybelline EyeStudio shadows. They are a million times softer, smoother, richer and more pigmented. There were 3 displays with new Wet n Wild products at Rite Aid. I saw these at Harmon last month and picked up 2 nail polishes. On this trip to Rite Aid I picked up a Megaslicks Balm Stain in Pinky Promise and an eye shadow 5 pan in Floral Values. I did not pick up any of the nail polishes. At Harmon I picked up a magenta chunky hexagonal glitter and a turquoise and silver hexagonal chunky glitter with square glitter. ![]() The 5 pans are labeled with where to place the on the eye. There are matte and shimmer/glitter colors. These were $3.99 with a $1.00 off coupon attached to the product. A review will be upcoming. ![]() I picked up a frosty pink called Pinky Promise. They were $2.99 with a $1 off sticker attached to the product. There were 6 colors. On a quick review these went on very soft and moisturizing. I would like to try one of the nude colors as well. A review will follow. ![]() This is my $5.00 haul from CVS. I used coupons and extra bucks and was emailed a 25% off non sale item coupons. I also received $31 extra bucks to be used on my next trip. I will only be talking about the beauty products to the left. ![]() Physicians Formula Super BB Cream $14.99 I bought a Youthful Foundation from them this past week and liked it. I am always looking for the perfect face products for my skin. I have sun damage, acne scars, fine lones starting to show and acne prone skin which I am always a little self conscious about. Most products help with one or two things but lag in another. I will try every face product until I have the right combination. I am going to do a product review of budget foundations, BB Creams and other face products in the future. This product claims to have 10 beauty benefits including concealing, moisturizing and line softening. Hopefully this will deliver on some of its claims. ![]() I usually don't buy anything from Almay but the glosses. I took a chance and picked the eye shadows to buy. I love their glosses but I'm a sucker for eye shadows. I haven't heard too many favorable reviews about these shadows. I decided to try them myself anyway. If anything, they have a nice palette of colors to offer and they have a tester to try. It felt velvety and the shadow color was sheer but noticeable. I picked up a glittery champagne color called creme brûlée. I also picked up violet purple called Vintage grape. Reviews to come. ![]() Around the holidays I usually pick up one or two of these drugstore makeup kits with a million items ( Fergies WnW Jet Set palette) or themes ( like Au Naturale or Ombré). These kits were $4.99. I got 25% off plus had $2 off a cosmetic gift set CVS coupon. It ended up being $1 and change. If the quality and color aren't there, at least I will have another eye pencil sharpener. ![]() On the new NYC display were balm pencils in a pretty arrangement of colors. I wanted to continue one of my New Years resolutions of wearing lipcolors in colors I usually shy away from. This color is called Canal St Coral. It was a sign I.was meant to get thiis color. My parents and I love to go to Canal Street when we go to NYC. ![]() Here is my Rite Aid haul for the week. With coupons and Up Rewards my total came to around $10. Like Cover Girl, I really want to like Rimmel products. I haven't found anything that I love or would buy extras just so I have. The shadows burned my eyes and none of their products I got ever 'wowed' me. Hopefully one of these will. I also picked up 2 more of the metallic formula Revlon Parfumerie polishes. Check out my review of these polishes in a previous post. ![]() I decided on these 4 products. Hopefully I will find a product that will restore my faith in this brand. I purchased Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara in extreme black and Scandeleyes thick and thin eyeliner. I saw the new display the other day for their new Stay Matte foundation so i waited until today to pick it up.It also had powder on the display. I picked up the foundation in Light Ivory. Like I always mention, I'm looking for a great face makeup combination for my problem areas. I like different things about each BB cream I have. Hopefully this will be a BB cream I can count on. ![]() Lastly, I picked up 2 more shades from the Revlon Parfumerie collection. From a previous blog, you know I either HATE of LOVE the polishes from this collection. I'm hoping these 2 have the formula and characteristics of the polishes I liked. I chose Italian Leather a shimmery steel grey and Surf Spray a turquoise with pink shimmer. In the bottle they look to be of the right formula. Overall I am very excited to try my new products. I hope to be able to share some great products ( and share any that I don't think people should waste their money on!) I read other beauty blogs to get an idea of what new and seasoned products out there that are great. One of the purposes of my blog is to pass on that makeup product information to others with my own opinions tacked on. If I can encourage one person to take a step and buy a product they normally wouldn't, I have succeeded. It's a great feeling buying new makeup, especially ones that you usually wouldn't buy and end up loving. Reviews of these products to come! ![]() I picked up some great clearance items and brand new releases today. I had Up rewards to redeem at Rite Aid that were expiring so I used this as a reason to hit the drugstores beauty departments. I'm really excited about a few of my choices! In my haul were the following items: - 2 Sinful Nailpolish colors Mercury Rising and I Love You for .99 each after 50% clearance. (Rite Aid) - 2 Sally Hansen nail polish pens in white and pale pink for $1.49 each after 75% clearance.(RA) -Almay Wakeup Eyeshadow and primer in Exhilarate $2.25 after 75% clearance (RA) -Sally Hansen Nail Strips in Lust-Rous $2.50 after 75% clearance (RA) -Almay Intense I-color liquid shadow $2.25 after 75% clearance (RA) $5/2 mfc -New Cover Girl TruMagic skin perfect mattifier $13.99 but on sale for 25% off and $1 MFC (RA) -New York Color new mascara 'Big Bold Volume By The Lash' $4.99 with 30% off (RA) -New York Color new Show Time velvet eyeliner in Black Wine $2.99 with 30% off (RA) - NewYork Color Polish in Grand Central Station $1.99 with 30% off (RA) Note: This is THE best polish to use as a quick drying top coat -Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Foundation in Fair $3.50 after 75% off clearance (CVS) -Nuance by Salma Hayek perfect lips lip quad $2.50 after 75% clearance (CVS) After coupons and UP rewards at Rite Aid, my total at both stores came to $12 and change. Some things like the Sally Hansen and Almay items I'm giving away as gifts but the stuff I am keeping I am SO excited about. I will talk about them below. ![]() This exotic looking contraption is the lip quad from Salma Hayek's Nuance collection exclusive to CVS. This is the first product I have purchased from this brand. Each shade folds up and they snap together. It looks like a lotus flower opening and closing. Sometimes it's a bit tricky to get opened but once I practiced, I figured it out easily. The red and mauve to the right of it are creams, the other 2 are shimmer glosses. There is a lip brush that snaps into the middle. It is cute packaging and I love that I can carry it with me and always have a brush to reapply. The glosses all feel very soft and moisturizing on my lips. The box says it contains vitamin E conditioners and macadamia seed, jojoba seed and grape seed oils to strengthen and moisturizer. They have no smell to them which sometimes is really nice. Some other brands overpower the senses with vanilla or mint in their glosses. I want to see how long these last during my work day. Some brands I apply ten times a day or more! It would be nice to have a gloss that stays put through my day. I will test it over the next few days. ![]() I'm very excited to try this product. I have been looking for a cover girl product that I really love. I researched this and if it does what it claims then I can cross Cover Girl off my list of brands that I really want to like. This is a clear balm that says it gives instant matte. You can wear it under or over makeup. It says you can apply throughout the day like a pressed powder. I hope this gives my face a softer, more even appearance. I have acne scars and sun damage so I am always on the lookout for a product to help minimize them. I have never tried one of those 'pore minimizing products' either. I will wear this for a week to see if I notice a difference in pore size, softness and evenness in appearance. ![]() Since I tried their shimmer eye palettes recently I have been actually stopping at the Physicians Formula section in the drugstores. This shade had a 75% off sticker. Like I mentioned before, with the scar dark spots and sun damage I'm always looking for a foundation, powder, BB Cream or whatever to help even my face out. This foundation claims to be ' youth boosting' and adds 10 years instantly. On the back of the box it claims to be the 1st foundation formula ever to instantly even out skin tone and texture and to treat the visible signs of aging, restoring firmness and improving skins appearance instantly. It says to apply after concealer. I'm willing to try any product to help my skin look better. I will try for a week and see if any of these claims have merit. ![]() I usually only buy NYC's new products and limited edition collection items (with the exception of Grand Central Station Polish). This is part of the 'Round the Clock' Display at Rite Aid that I saw for the first time today. I am always willing to try a new mascara, especially one that says it multiplies lashes by 200% I picked this up in Extreme Black. There was also double ended eye pencil duo's, another mascara, single packaged eye pencils and 2 eye shadow palettes with primer. I have the old purple 'Blue Eye' palette that is VERY similar to this one so I saw no need to get this one. I also am drawn more to color than browns so that was a pass as well. The eye pencils are horrible. I bought 2 recently and they pulled at my eye and actually hurt while I applied it. I did not want to take my chances with the duo ones. Instead, I saw the velvet eyeliners which sounded soft and less 'hurty'. The back says it is formulated with vitamins C and E. I decided to give NYC's eye pencils another chance. Plus the one it picked up is called 'Black Wine'. It's a warm black with deep red glitter. Its a beautiful shade that i actually cant wait to use. I will incorporate both products into a look soon and hopefully I will still be excited about these products.
Today was a great day for getting some clearance and brand new products to try. My Up reads wee expiring so it gave me the excuse to pick up some more things to try. If you are interested in any clearance products, I would get them ASAP because they are selling out fast. Plus you never known when they will just remove the product to replace with a new one. I hope in the future to have some recommended products from this haul, especially the cover girl pick up. Thanks for reading and have a sparkling day!!!! Rite Aid has some pretty good Beauty sales starting Sunday to stock up on items or to try something new.
I will be listing beauty deals with coupons that I will be using as well. Rite Aid can be very hit or miss for me. If I don't get there the first day of the sale, things are usually out of stock by the end of the day, especially if its a great deal. I have read from other blogs and have had this experience as well that Rite Aid sometimes is never really stocked with a product to begin with. Rite Aid does have great facebook and monthly Video Value coupons that you can only use once. For the Video Values, you watch a short video on the product and then get to print out a coupon on that product. There are always beauty products listed each month for the Video Values. Rite Aid also has a Load2Card coupon option. You click on manufacturer coupons and it gets sent to your Wellness card. Then when you buy a product that you have a coupon loaded on your card for, it automatically comes right off. I have reservations about this. Sometimes the coupon doesn't come off when it was supposed to and If you ring something up and end up not buying it, the coupon doesn't get "replaced" back on your card. I had an incident where my Up Rewards didn't print out. I had to come back the next day with all my products to get the Rewards. The manager returned and re-rang each product to produce the UP Reward. Unfortunately I had coupons on my Wellness Card for the products. They came off my card when he re-rang my already purchased items. I was not able to get them back or re-load them onto my card. Plus, you cannot use your own manufacturers coupon if there is already one loaded onto your card. If I cannot guarantee that the loaded coupon is coming off, I'd much rather deal with paper coupons. So that is my little story about why I don't do Load2Card. Some people love it, some people don't. I am also a Gold level in Member Rewards for Rite Aid so I get 20% off any non-sale item. This helps out when I see new products during a non-sale week for that brand. 12/22-12/28 Rite Aid Ad -40% off any Maybelline Product -$2 off Color Elixer or Any Lipstick (RP 12/8/13) -$1 off ColorShow Nail Polish (RP 12/8/13) -$2 off Mascara or Foundation (coupons.com) Note: I will probably do the Great Lash Colored Mascara deal here as well as at CVS so I can get the whole collection. I bought the Very Berry shade from Rite Aid a few weeks ago for $5.49. After the 40% and the $2 off Mascara coupon, they will be $1.30 each! I saw the new face powder and ColorShow polishes at Rite aid this week so it could be a great deal if you are interested in them. I am waiting for the Baby Face Pore product to come to Rite Aid so I can try and review it. This would be a great sale to pick it up at. I did a review on here of the new quad eyeshadows and I did not like them. Picking up a new Color Elixir would also make me happy as I have yet to try them. -Spend $20 on Revlon Get $5 Up Rewards. All products are also BOGO 50% -$2 off Revlon Lip Product (Coupons.com) NO LONGER AVAILABLE -$2 off any Revlon Product or Tool (Rite Aid Facebook Coupon) NO LONGER AVAILABLE Note: Like I mentioned in the CVS post, the Revlon $2 off a Lip Product coupon expires the 28th of this month. Unfortunately it is no longer printable on coupons.com. They might restock it at the beginning of the month. This would also be a good sale to use the coupon on if you have any left over. You can also use a manufacturer's coupon with a Rite Aid coupon so if you have these 2 coupons in your stash, you can get $4 off one Revlon Lip Product. -Spend $15 on Rimmel get $5. All Products are also BOGO 50% -$1 off Any Rimmel Product MFC (Found on a Rimmel Display in Nov 2013) Note: I have a love/hate relationship with Rimmel. I want to find something that I like from this brand so badly! But I have had nothing but disappointment with products I have bought in the past. Any Recommendations? If you read my CVS post you know my displeasure with the Color Pop Mascara's which I was very excited about. Their eye shadow also burns my eyelids for some reason. They must use a chemical that I am sensitive to. I have read really good reviews about their new ScandelEyes mascara, eyeshadow paints and eyeliner products so I might try those. Hopefully the new products will be out in stores by next week. - Spend $15.00 on Physicians Formula and get $6 Up Rewards. In the ad they show an eyeshadow palette that looks like a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I did a little research and there are some similarities between both palettes. I might finally give in and pay a little more than I usually would for eyeshadows. I don't have many neutral colors in my collection (Shockingly). I tend to use and buy colors more. -BOGO 50% off Lip Gloss, Lipstick or Lipbalm from the following brands: Almay, L'Oreal, Neutrogena, and Wet n' Wild. -$5/2 Almay Products MFC (coupons.com) -$2 Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm (Rite AId Video Value Coupon) Note: Remember, you can use both coupons listed above in the same transaction. -BOGO 50% off Cover Girl Eye, Lip or Nail Note: Im not a huge fan of cover girl. Like Rimmel, I want to really like their products. I have been disappointed in most of their eyeshadows which I did a huge haul on last month and now can't bring myself to use them. They had awesome color combinations but poor color payoff and texture. -Spend $15 on Sally Hansen Products get $5 Up Rewards Note: Im keeping an eye out for their new Xtreme wear polishes. I bought one at Target last weekend and can't find it. I either threw it out or it's still sitting in the cart that I used. -BOGO 50% off Nail Polishes from the following Brands: Julie G, L'Oreal, N.Y.C., Sinful, Wet n Wild & Fergie and Jesse's girl Note: This could be dangerous. I bought one of the Julie G Gumdrop polishes and liked the color and texture. I have used it as a French manicure tip and as a base for manicure designs. I actually like their whole collection. They have very bright colors that so far for me have had smooth application and great color payoff. And luckily I already have 99% of Fergie's nail polishes or there would be some empty slots in my local Rite Aid. -25% of Fragrance and Cosmetics Gift Sets |
